Bar and In hit the road 2012

Winter is a depressing time for some but not for us here at Bar and In HQ as its officially the busiest time of the the year for a spot of ground hopping where only Santa himself covers more air miles. We begin in October in Scotland's second city Glasgow for Rangers vs Queens Park or 'the new firm' derby as it may be called following Rangers drop to the foot of Scottish football. We will be amongst a bumper crowd at Ibrox which has recently set a new record in Europe for attendance at a fourth division match, nae bad pal!

From the chilly north we go to the even chillier south in Bavaria, Germany for not one, or even two but a whopping three matches in three days. We will be heading to Spvgg Unterhaching, currently sitting pretty at the top of the German 3 Liga, facing Babelsberg on the Friday night under the lights. Saturday sees us head down the S-bahn to Augsburg who play champions Borussia Dortmund in what's looking to be a top vs bottom, David vs Goliath type battle with Augsburg languishing at the bottom of the Bundesliga.

Sunday takes us north past Nuremberg to Furth who's newly promoted side Spvgg Greuther Furth take on our favourite Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach at the Trolli arena, look forward to that one then!

Returning from Munich and all its wonderful neighbours will see us take a trip to the picturesque town of York for Burton Albion's first fixture of 2013, oh dear readers, we do spoil you! Pass the Ferrero Rocher....
